Transparency
Our Use of AI.
Last updated: May 2026
At Surveyor Success, transparency is not an afterthought. This page explains exactly how artificial intelligence is used in the creation of our content — and, just as importantly, where it stops and where real expertise begins.
AI as a research tool — not a ghostwriter
AI plays a supporting role in the Surveyor Success workflow. It helps with the time-consuming early stages of content creation: identifying relevant topics, generating title ideas, structuring article outlines, and pulling together background research from a wide range of sources.
But every article you read on this site is curated, written, and reviewed by Courage Oseghale — a Commercial Manager with over a decade of hands-on experience in the UK construction and quantity surveying industry. That experience shapes every editorial decision: what topics matter, what the nuance is, what a working QS actually needs to know.
AI does not write our articles. It helps find the starting point. Everything from there — the structure, the judgement calls, the practical insight, the final words — comes from real professional experience.
What AI helps with
- Researching topic areas and identifying what UK quantity surveyors are searching for
- Generating title ideas and article angles, which are then selected and refined editorially
- Structuring outlines so no important subtopic is missed
- Drafting initial content skeletons that are then substantially rewritten and enhanced
- Producing prompts for AI-generated header images (see below)
- Assisting with SEO structuring — headings, metadata, and keyword placement
What AI never replaces
AI tools do not have ten years on a construction site. They do not understand the difference between how a contract clause reads and how it behaves in practice. They do not know the pressures of a final account negotiation, or what graduates actually struggle with in their first QS role.
That professional judgement — the ability to say “this is what matters, this is what is often misunderstood, this is what nobody else is writing honestly about” — is something only a practitioner can bring. Every article published here has been reviewed through that lens before it goes live.
- Professional and technical accuracy across contract law, RICS guidance, and industry practice
- Editorial judgement about what is genuinely useful versus what sounds plausible but is wrong
- Practical insight drawn from real experience in commercial management and quantity surveying
- The decision about whether something is worth publishing at all
Images and visuals
Most header images on Surveyor Success are generated using AI image tools — primarily Gemini and ChatGPT — rather than stock photography libraries. We use AI generation because it lets us create images that are specific, relevant, and visually consistent with the content of each article, rather than reaching for the same generic hard-hat photographs used across the industry.
Each image is selected and reviewed before publication to ensure it represents the topic accurately and does not mislead. AI-generated images are used to bring content to life, not to cut corners — construction and surveying deserve imagery that reflects the work, not clipart.
Accuracy and fact-checking
We take accuracy seriously — particularly for content touching on RICS qualifications, professional regulations, UK contract law, and HMRC tax rules. AI can and does produce plausible-sounding errors, and we do not publish anything that has not been cross-referenced against reliable sources.
Our editorial process includes:
- Cross-referencing AI-assisted content against official sources including RICS guidance, GOV.UK, NEC/JCT contract documentation, and established industry publications
- Expert review of all technical content before publication
- Regular updates to existing articles when regulations, guidance, or industry standards change
- Clear signposting when content reflects professional opinion rather than verified fact
If you spot something that appears inaccurate or out of date, please let us know. We take every flag seriously and update content promptly.
